Right, that's a good idea. And a far as I remember, we have already
discussed it some time ago.
UFO2000 still lacks good design (ability to easily replace rendering
part of the code). Xenocide still lacks playability, at least you
could add some UFOs flying and the ability to intercept them.
By the way, look here. These games are very simple and easy to code,
but they are playable, that's the approach I like very much:

Well, both our projects are improving, so it is quite possible that we
will join out efforts in the future.
