Hi there, I have reviewed the code and there is very little what I can say about = it. In fact, network programming is complitely unknow area for me. So here are other comments. 1) bool should be replaced with Bool. 2) Files does not contain any documentation. They should have provided = more explanation for major classes/methods using Doxygen. Hi to all !!! Here is my work for the PAQ File Manager library. I read the papers on the forum and I followed red-knight councils (thanks !) This is my third layout, the two before this were too low-level and I rewrote them. I made it as abstract as I can for the application and simple inside. If you have any questions, suggestions, or anything to say I'm here. The library provides all functions to manage the archive (like add, remove, update files) and read-only access to single files (once stored). It manages the PAQ, FAT and DVL files. If you agree with the headers attached here, I can start coding. I have no write access on the CVS system cause I'm not a project member. So I can't upload this code. Can someone help me? NOTE: for now, all the space allocation and name resolution algorithms are part of the PAQFileAllocationTable class. If we are going to implement a modifiable PAQ (with write access on single files and file size growing support) I have to do some changes.. I think we don't need them anyway. A file once it's stored is read-only. You can remove and add it again, anyway. HELP: I can't download the previous mailing-list attached files from the sourceforge archive. What can I do? Attached is a Zip file containing the code I have written so far towards the PAQ operations. It is in no way complete as it gives no way to actually make PAQ files yet. Comments would be appreciated. Hey all, I just committed some documentation I did to the xenocide interfaces. Uni starts in a few days however and I won't be able to do any more work (using CVS) on the project for about 6 weeks (until my next holidays) because I won't have my computer connected to the net. I'll try and check in on the forums when I can. I've got a course on Logic and Programming this semester so I might be able to help with the AI after this semester is finished. Good luck guys. Ok I've done some major structural changes so everyone should checkout a new copy. Unlike RK's changes ;) these break compilation. 1) structural changes 1a) <xenocide/utility/includes.h> is no more us <xenocide/common.h> instead. 1b) <xenocide/types.h> added and is included by the above 1c) the directory <xenocide/os-dep/unix/> has be renamed to <xenocide/os-dep/posix> 1d) for each of the directories in the os-dep/ directory (win32, osx and posix) common.h and types.h. These contain the system dependent stuff used by their counterparts in the <xenocide/> directory. 2) Datatypes 2a) commonly used datatypes are in the Xenocide names 2b) primitives are lower cased and include things like uint32, int8 and so forth 2c) Abstract datatypes have the first letter of each named capitalized and include Int32List 2d) the posix os-dependent primitives are taken care of 2e) the win32 and os x have not yet been implemented 3) Multiplatform Support. Made it easier to add support for other platforms. ok I think that's it but now alot of code needs to be updated to reflect those changes :) __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? If this is to be the standard compiler for the project, it only seems fitting that we all have it. ftp://ftpd.borland.com/download/bcppbuilder/freecommandLinetools.exe Thanks, Scott Ritchie ICQ: 3035624 AIM/Yahoo: therealyokozar MSN: sha...@at... |

Well after like 2 hour of work, i had put up to date the code. Now it = reflex the actual directory changes (not to mention that now it = compiles) so please for everybody who has outdated copies, download them = again because the code had suffered major changes so all stuff that you = do WILL collide with the structural changes made. I had added a bcb6 module, it is the project group, project options and = an optional makefile for the ones that will use the Free Borland = Compiler 5.5 (xenocide.mak) command like compiler. Just do a make = -fxenocide and there you go.=20 The instructions for download are pretty simple... just go to the = directory you want to download xenocide (for example xenocide.cvs) and = then download both the xenocide and bcb6 modules without changing = directories. Now you are ready to compile the project, and the = executable file will be put in the bin directory on the xenocide module. Greetings Red Knight |

Ian, the only thing that i had changed is that in a method you left the = code in the docs. Two copies of the same code is not a good idea, i just = had ripped all code from the docs, left it in the method body. Greetings Red Knight |

Hey all, Attached is a zip file of the documentation I've done so far, it consists of the personnel, stores, hangers and basecomponent .cpp and .h files. In the basecomponent .h there was a friend class base which I didn't know how to document properly, so I've left it for now (theres a section in the .cpp for documenting it, but that currently contains some of the Base documentation). I'll get working on the interface files soon. Ian aka Cannonfodder __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? New DSL Internet Access from SBC & Yahoo! http://sbc.yahoo.com |

Here you go everybody, attached is the techtree.xml file which contains just about everything I think we need to do the technology tree. Let me know if I left something out or if it is hard/difficult to implement. Note that this will require the creation of a few subfolders: One that hasn't been named yet to host the XML files /ufopedia inside that to host the text files for each entry in the ufopedia /ufopedia/short for the short entries that will display on the research screen before researching a tech. Thanks, Scott Ritchie ICQ: 3035624 AIM/Yahoo: therealyokozar MSN: sha...@at... |

Dunno if this got posted before because I had to rejoin the list for some strange reason. :) but anyway I have several suggestions. 1) get rid of the . in the include path in the code.. for example #include <./this/that.h>. The . is non standard and while it probably works fine in both windows and unix there are other operating systems it won't work in. For example, In AmigaDos the . does not represent current directory and .. does not represent parent directory. isntead / infront of a path represents parrent directory. here #include <./this/that.h> won't work as expected. 2) get rid of the include/ directory and instead put the headers right next to their .cpp counter parts. Some IDE's like this and will let you switch between the header and source files with a click. also I suggest the source tree should look like this. Xenocide-version/ Xenocide-version/src Xenocide-version/src/Xenocide Xenocide-version/src/Xenocide/Geoscope Xenocide-version/src/Xenocide/General well and so forth. the #include's should look as follows #include <Xenocide/General/Sodlier.h> and with gcc we just add the include path with -I how it should be. also gcc does not need a subdirectory in the compiler/ directory. Instead gcc will have a configure file in the root project directory that will create Makefiles in all needed directories. automake/autoconfig probably can be setup for borland too since it is supposed to be idependent. My guess is you want to keep the borland directory in the compiler directory. Us unix folks just like doing the following >./configure >make >make install __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Mail Plus - Powerful. Affordable.
