Good idea on all counts. An explicit reference to an X-Net entry will allow revealing of multiple entries. Order of priority on the entries within an XOR tag is also good, though some bookkeeping will have to be done in any case. I don't mind in principle being able to obsolete multiple researches, though I can't currently see any practical use for it (but eh, we might need it later :). Have you thought about trying to come up with an XSD so that we can validate XML data files? You can probably generate the XSD backwards from an XML entry using XMLspy or the Microsoft XML tool (I forget what it's called).
