Wrapping Up

The Xena project will be wrapping up and will no longer be maintained or supported.

Note for existing Xena users that wish to migrate to a different solution that the Xena Viewer will allow for mass export from multiple Xena files. Simply open the Xena Viewer and choose the Export option for this.

Xena 4.2.1 released

The latest version of Xena builds on our previous 4.1 release.

This new version sees the migration to Sun's java 1.6 as well the ability to normalise OOXML files. This release also includes several bug fixes including the TIFF image viewing failure through exif nulls.

Xena 4.2 released

The latest version of Xena builds on our previous 4.1 release.

Ability to use Xena via the command line (provided by Matt from the Archives of NZ) and numerous bug fixes are among the internal improvements.

Xena 4.0 released

The newest Xena has the ability to extract metadata from image files, to export via the viewer GUI, to process compressed files and the audio convertor is now a standard feature.

Xena 4.0 Preview

Some features of the Xena framework were not available via the Xena 3.0 Lite release. Xena 4.0 will include access to Xena's Export feature along with some new file convertors. Download the Xena 4.0 Preview and let us know what you think.

Xena 3.0 Lite Released

The Xena digital preservation framework has reached maturity with the creation of the Xena API and the release of Xena 3.0 Lite. This simplified GUI application provides a showcase for a selection of the Xena framework features, including the ability to save data in OpenDocument format.

Xena Lite developer preview

A developer preview beta of Xena Lite may be downloaded from the sourceforge file release system from today.

This is a feature-complete copy of Xena Lite and it has been made available for comment while all of the final arrangements are made for a full release.

Exciting new Xena in testing

We are just a few more tests away from releasing the long awaited Xena Lite. This is "Lite" in terms of a slimmed down and more intuitive interface, not light on for functions.

If you have Apache Ant, a JDK and a sense of adventure, most of the new greatness is in the anonymous CVS repository right now.
