I am runninf xena 2 on linux fc4 with OO 1.4
when I try to normalize a sxw file I get error
referring to quickstart
I dont seem to have quickstart in my OO dir tree
any help greatly appreciated

Sorry for the tardy reply Randolph.
I'll guess you meant OOo 1.1.4 rather than 1.4. Have you set up the office plugin within Xena?
Edit -> Plugin Properties -> Office
Then browse to the top of your OpenOffice tree. If you receive an error at this point, it's often a permissions issue. One easy solution is to do a:
chown -R <your_user_name> /path/to/OOo/
