When running xdvik on some systems (e.g., Ubuntu 14.04), xdvik prints an error message:
Cannot convert string "--helvetica-medium-r---12------*" to type FontStruct

The string as quoted above is missing many asterisks. Presumably this is due to sourceforge interpreting them as signaling italics.
