(Note: This is likely best addressed during the
overhaul of the combat system.)
If a hostile unit is approaching a constructor, one
option that the constructor may have is to build cheap
(same turn-to-complete or maybe hostile ETA
turns-to-complete) defensive or offensive units to
protect itself. This should be considered as a tactical
response, just as much as attacking or fleeing, when
relevant.
Things such as walls, minefields, effective offensive
spells (read, ones that can beat the crap out of the
approaching/beseiging hostile), etc... should be
considered.
For walls, minefields, etc..., one needs to think about
whether they occupy too much volume in a transport or
cell, and whether they inhibit movement of friendlies
too much, if on an open cell, especially if a
connection is there.
