In fedora FC1 using the latest xchat (2.0.7) and also
the fedora version (2.0.4) copying and pasting from the
input line does not work using the middle mouse button.

What does work using the middle mouse button:

1) Copying and pasting in X generally.
2) Copy and pasting from the scrolling text in xchat
3) Highlighting text that is being input in xchat
(before pressing enter) and pasting it anywhere else
but in xchat

What doesn't work

a) Highlighting text that is being input in one xchat
window (before pressing enter) and pasting it into the
input line of another xchat window.

Cheers,
Raphael

Does the last comment mean that user "zed" can *not* confirm
the bug in 2.02, 2.04 or 2.07? Which version of xchat did
you use and did you copy from the *input line* by
highlighting and then paste to the *input line* of another
xchat window by using the middle button?

I have had the bug confirmed by a number of users
independently in #redhat and #linux now. Interestingly,
    ctrl-C, ctrl-V *does* work.

    Cheers,
    Raphael

I can reproduce it now, if you replace "window" with "tab"
in the description. I was trying it literally with another
    -window-.

Unfortunately, this can't be fixed easily at all. I can't
think of anything that can be done about it.

Does the last poster mean they can't reproduce this problem?
It has been confirmed independently by half a dozen people
now on different xchat versions so I would find this surprising.

(please ignore last comment by me)

This problem does not exist in xchat 1.x if that helps at all.
