With a large number of favorites and autojoins it ends up taking so long for it to quit changing focus every time it joins a channel that half of the networks joined will have timed out with NickServ. This is homicide-motivatingly annoying. Please fix this braindead behavior.

I would specifically suggest not changing focus on any event that was initiated by autoconnect or autojoin.

There is the tab_new_to_front setting for that. See http://xchatdata.net/Using/SetVariables for possible values.

Changing tab_new_to_front setting isn't enough. Even when it's 2, when starting up, all tabs are explicitly asking for focus (mg_changui_new is called with focus = true).

I think only the first one should explicitly ask for focus

Another reason why the current behavior is not optimal. One can start typing a message in one channel, and have the last characters of it (and the newline) entered into a new tab that just popped up.
