I have downloaded and installed X-CD-Roast 0.98alpha10 on Red Hat 7.2 os. It recognized my LG CD-RW
drive, though failed to recognize the CD-ROM drive. I have installed all the back-end software for
X-CD-Roast. I could burn a CD-R to back up about 8MB of data only once. This CD was also
successfully mounted. I created a multi-session CD. From the next time X-CD-Roast giving an error
message when I try to write data to any CD and ejecting the CD without writing. In the error message
there is a warning: "Creating filesystem that does not conform to ISO-9660." In the "ISO9660
options" tab, I selected Rock Ridge + Joliet as image type. The output message stored in
"cdrecord.out" is appended below. Can anybody help me to resolve the problem ?

      Hi,

      I also have this error with xcdroast0.98a10, RH 7.1, KDE 2.x, CD-writer is HP8100+.
In my case it happens only when I'm not root.

(here is the part of your error that I recognise)
cdrecord: Input/output error. write_g1: scsi sendcmd: no error
      [...]
      status: 0x2 (CHECK CONDITION)

Looks like your writer is not supported correctly in DAO mode
yet. Try to update your cdrecord version to something more
      recent or switch to TAO.
