Hello all, actually I'm having some issues with my named on my xCAT2.1 and SLES10.2 powered cluster. a) makedns returns with an error -- root@cluster[0]:~# makedns Error: Improper format SOA in /var/named/db.cluster. -- Why? I can solve it by deleting everything in /var/named/ -- root@cluster[0]:/var/named# rm -rf /var/named/* root@cluster[0]:/var/named# makedns Setup of DNS complete. -- Maybe not what I want b) makedns uses a wrong path -- root@cluster[0]:~# /etc/init.d/named restart Shutting down name server BIND waiting for named to shut down (28s) done Starting name server BIND startproc: exit status of parent of /usr/sbin/named: 1 failed root@cluster[7]:~# cat /etc/ root@cluster[1]:~# head /etc/named.conf options { directory "/var/named/"; forwarders { 172.31.1.1; 10.28.193.5; }; }; zone "0.0.127.IN-ADDR.ARPA" in { -- In my eyes /var/named is NOT correct on SLES. On SLES it should be /var/lib/named My workaround is to copy all files from /va/named to /var/lib/named But it should be any easy thing for the tool itself, not? Or is there something missing in my setup? Thanks a lot! Torsten -- :wq |
