Hello.

monstart xcatmon node1

mn.cluster: started. Refresh interval is 6 minute(s).

crontab -l

/6 * * * XCATROOT=/usr
PATH=/sbin:/usr/sbin:/usr/local/sbin:/bin:/usr/bin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/X11R6/bin
XCATCFG='' /usr/bin/nodestat all -m -u -q

As you can see `nodestat' will be ask all nodes status. Not one node1.

From `nodestart' manpage :
...noderange is the nodes to be monitored. If omitted, all nodes will be
monitored.
this doesn't correspond reality.

Is such behaviour bogus ?

    This is a tough one. Need to re-evaluate the monitoring infrastructure. For RMC monitoring for example, it is hard to just monitor part of the nodes because it is the condition that is defined on the mn to determine what nodes to monitoring.

    As Ling mentioned, this is a tough one, so we can not handle this as a bug, I moved this to xCAT 2.7 wishlist and closing this bug.
