Arif, xCAT team did make a discussion of whether moving to systemd from SysV for rh7 and sles12 last year. The conclusion was: we have to take the risk for the change in package install and service control, but we did not see any benefit from using systemd configuration file compares with current SysV cfg file.
What's your motivation to move to systemd cfg file? We might can wait to move to systemd when the mojority of xCAT supported OS are systemd based.
