#9 XDB specifications

Hi, XCA is simply great. However it'd be nice to have some kind of specification for the XDB database format to write compatible software and also to better understand how such important information is stored.

Some example questions:
Which parts are encrypted?
What kind of encryption is used?

It would also be interesting to know if you use any techniques to keep cleartext passwords/keys in memory for the shortest time possible, if you enforce zeroing that memory area and if you try to avoid paging/swapping of password/keys.
Pointer to source code would also be appreciated.
