Hi, I made a start with a Unix man page for xc3sprog. It's still lacking in detail and completeness. Please tell me what you think. One challenge will be to keep this page up to date while xc3sprog evolves. Some other thoughts: It seems that the -E and -F options currently have no real function. One of the supported file formats is called "MCS". However, the .MCS files that I get from IMPACT are in fact compatible with the "IHEX" style of xc3sprog, which is different from the "MCS" style. Do you know of a use for the "MCS" style? Otherwise it should be removed to avoid confusing users. I'd like to put a list of supported JTAG devices in the man page. As far as I know, all Spartan-3, Virtex-5, Spartan-6, XCFnnS and XCFnnP devices are supposed to work. What more? Virtex-2, Virtex-6, CoolRunner, AVR? Which types of SPI flash? Similarly, I'd like to make a list of supported JTAG cables, with full name and vendor. It would also be good to have such information on the web, so that potential new users can decide whether xc3sprog is suitable for their situation. Greetings, Joris. |
