Probably not in the near future... MAME 0.172 introduced a few fundamental changes:
The ROM selection menu has been replaced. Personally I don't like the needlessly bloated menus at all with all kinds of new filters, bells and whistles showing entries I don't need, e.g. for not-existing ROMs or BIOS entries. Gettings this down to show a simple list of your existing(!) games will be some work.
The MAME guys removed the direct draw renderer, which was HqMame's default renderer. GDI can still be used, but it does a bad job at stretching images. So to get HqMame back to life the Direct3D renderer needs to be implemented first, which is an incredibly complex beast compared to direct draw or the (beautifully simple) GDI renderer.

I understand, then need to wait for the future support of D3D renderer.
I think not update mame from 0.171 in wait for next release and i hope HQmame can be back soon.
Good luck for this.

It's been a while since last release of HQmame (2.31 - 09_02_16).
Any chance to have another (2.32 or 2.33) for mame 0.172?

What about the new bgfx renderer? Would it be possible to implement xbrz through shaders or a new plugin? I red in the mame forums that MooglyGuy is working on that.
