XAware 5.4 Stable

Released March 3, 2009 - SVN build 5.4.0.58

We're pleased to present the first stable build of 5.4, which has the following new features and updates:

As requested by our community, the Designer now supports automatic file reference updates when you Move (see it now http://www.xaware.org/move.html ) or Rename (see it now http://www.xaware.org/rename.html ) your service files in the projects.

A new Service View has been added for reading and writing binary, text, and XML using the File BizComponent. This feature is still undergoing development, but you can work with it in this stable release and let us know what you think.

The servlet and command line processor now generate JSON-formatted data when requested (_OUTPUT_TYPE=json).

Additional examples have been added to the default list of starting projects for new users.

XAware has made a change to the delivered Tomcat installation to direct STDOUT messages to appear in the console, similar to the JBoss instance available with the installers. If you use your own Tomcat installation, you may want to duplicate the changes we've implemented, which are described at the following link. http://www.xaware.org/components/com_mambowiki/index.php/Deploy_WAR_to_Tomcat

In addition, XAware is working on additional JSON research, a potential RIA Data Services bundle, and an on-site training class for those who can visit our fair state.
