Hey Xastir team - Happy Holidays!
I apologize if it is poor etiquette to post patches uninvited. I would ping the dev list first to ask how you would prefer to receive code proposals, but I'm not sure how to contact the list with the main site down.
I've been tinkering with re-enabling the adoption of packets received via UDP that are marked as TO_RF. The changes are fairly trivial, but I thought I'd share. The patch is against the 1.9.4 release.
I understand that source call spoofing is (obviously) an issue with any packet adoption scheme. Maybe the adoption code could be a compile-time option? Or (beyond my skill) maybe adoptable packets could be passed in through a domain socket or pty, as a way of using OS security to control inbound access?
Anyway, here 'tis, FWIW.
Merry Christmas and 73,
