I think it would be useful to have a tool that is a mixture of the measure function and dead reckoning. For instance, if an object like a thunderstorm is created. Suppose I select that object and drag my mouse away from the object. A DR arc could be displayed as well as either a time interval or time of day, depending upon the distance of the mouse from the object.
