You can move here if you like, or, I believe, we can use Google Docs to collaborate on the same documents so there are not multiple "source" copies. Your choice. I'm ok with either. Let me know if you have trouble accessing. I've made the file public, but I'm new to Google Docs and haven't spent time to get up to speed on it.
Some notes on the spreadsheet.
These columns are extracted directly from registry: Key, Value Name, Value Type, Sample Value.
Next column is a divider only.
Following three columns are to log info relevant to the the project.
"XaReg Tab": Intended to document the TAB on the XaReg app which sets that registry entry. Blank means, not used by XaReg.
"Can be Set by User Within Xara": Could use to record where the setting is made to make it easier to find when needed. E.g.: Registry setting HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Xara\WebDesignerPremium\9.0\Options\Layers\ActiveLayerVisibleAndEditable corresponds to dialog Options\General\General Options\Current layer always visible and editable
NOTE: Settings changes in program appear to not be made in registry until app is closed. Need to investigate further.
"Change Risk Level": Examples --- SAFE = safe to change outside of Xara app. , use other descriptors to identify problems, or if should not be touched ever.
Last row in spreadsheet is a registry entry that was in XaReg, but not created by the Xara install or running the app. I suspect it is undocumented and was only added when I toggled it in XaReg.
"All Pages the Same" is disabled in XaReg for WebDesignerPremium X64 9.0 - webdesigner.exe. Not sure why except that newer version now make it settable via Options dialog. Also not sure if it is in the registry or saved with the .xar or .web file now.
At the time this spreadsheet was uploaded, I had verified and entered "General" for the items in "XaReg Tab" which are on the left hand side of the XaReg General tab except:
All Pages the Same
Retain Bitmap Fill Attributes (Think this was the one I couldn't find).
That's as far as I've had time to take it.
Hope this helps.

Hi! I'm PhilM and you may remember me from such things as TalkGraphics, Xara and the emails we've exchanged. ;-)
Designer, analyst, C++ programmer of 20 years experience.
And just for fun: My main qualification in this context is that I've worked on Xara Designer from the very beginning, 20 years ago, and on it's predecessor ArtWorks before that. (The first time Xara Designer drew anything on screen was in my office at Gaddesden Place one Saturday morning.)

Hi guys, I thought I'd ask this here. I recall having a discussion with Bill Taylor about a year ago about a registry key that turned on an option in the Shapebuilder tool to have a square nib. Is this something that could be added to the project? I noticed that Steve and John(Horn) haven't added this option to XaReg2

I did a quick scan of the registry and did not see anything obvious to match what you are describing. However, that doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Did your communication with Bill take place on Talkgraphics or in private? If on Talkgraphics and the registry key was identified, we can look into it further if we an find the thread.

The key phrase in that key name is "Test". It was just a test and in the end we didn't think it worked well enough to pursue it. So it was disabled. You can't use square nibs in any released version.

What option is it in? I cannot find it in my Web 9.0. I guess that tells us that there are more option in XDP pro than the web versions.
I was holding out to just install the new XDP Pro when it came out. Maybe I should go ahead and install my XDP Pro.
P.S. Can we move discussions to the our forum (the one here in SF).

Hi Grace. I'd like to join this project.
I think you are added as a developer. Would you like admin privileges?
Hi Grace. I'll try to assist wherever needed. I can compile/run/test .net apps and although not proficient in C# can work my way through it.
Thanks, you are now a member.
Grace,
I've saved a copy of the spreadsheet listing X9 registry options on Google Docs at

For some reason, lists above were renumbered from what I typed...
Hi Grace I hope you are going to continue with this as this version will be open source and as far as I know XaReg is not.
I can't help with coding but I can help with graphics, website design, Logo design and beta testing.
Francis, I have added you.
Hi
I'll help with the testing
Hi Grace,
Can I join the project, please?
Thanks, Phil
Hi Phil, could you tell us a little about yourself. What skills do you have.
Thanks

Hi Phil, what is your SF name, I am not finding Phil Martin although I do see a profile by that name:-(.
Er, I'm really not sure you're qualified.
Ok. Seriously. Welcome!!!

Frances,
I did a quick scan of the registry and did not see anything obvious to match what you are describing. However, that doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Did your communication with Bill take place on Talkgraphics or in private? If on Talkgraphics and the registry key was identified, we can look into it further if we an find the thread.
I can't point you to where we discussed this, but I did find the entry in the registry. See Attached screenshot
You should discuss this one with Phil as John(covoxer) may have left this out of XaReg2 for a reason.
Just tested with XDProX and set value to both 0 and 1. No change for me.
Have you seen it work? If so, can you post a screen shot of Xara with the nib changed?

Discussion moved here:
https://sourceforge.net/p/xara9registryed/discussion/general/thread/422f50ad/#3405
The key phrase in that key name is "Test". It was just a test and in the end we didn't think it worked well enough to pursue it. So it was disabled. You can't use square nibs in any released version.
I see that we have a forum to discuss issues. I have set up one for the developers. So we can centralize stuff.
What option is it in? I cannot find it in my Web 9.0. I guess that tells us that there are more option in XDP pro than the web versions.
I was holding out to just install the new XDP Pro when it came out. Maybe I should go ahead and install my XDP Pro.

Yes this is a Designer Pro option. As it works with the Shape builder and the eraser tool it may also be present in Photo & Graphics Designer.
I don't know if there is a way to move posts from here to the forum perhaps as Admin there might be something available to you?

Let's move discussion here: https://sourceforge.net/p/xara9registryed/discussion/coding/
I think you must be logged in to access.
Me too please (EricB)
Thanks.
