Phew... This release has had a lot of blood, sweat, and tears gone into it. Although this is an alpha release, it is actually pretty much fully functional (as far as a know). I'm sure the user-commuity will turn up lots of bugs. I'm keen to get this library stable. All help to test this release is appreciated.
I have spent a significant amount of time upgrading information on the official website. Included is a new article (under the "articles" section). The front page has been totally overhauled for content. The old content is moved to the "aims" section. The menu has also be overhauled. Many minor updates to other parts of the site. Please let me know if you find any bugs.
Reference documentation has been generated using phpDocumentor. The documentation can be found on the website and in the distributution under /docs/api
everything off HEAD in the CVS will be broken while the XAO library is re-factored. I've done most of the work needed to separate things out but there is still a lot of redundant garbage lying around in DomDoc class. I'm hoping to complete the refactoring sometime this week so that I can get the library back into a working state. Once I have done this, I will tag off a pre-Alpha version.
xao-php.sf.net is starting to look like a going concern as far as the website is concerned. Probably another dedicated afternoon will do it.
The UML page (under documentation) links to an image of a class diagram which is taken directly from the CVS browsing facility on SF.net
The front page has been updated as well as the general FAQ page. The XML links page is also no fully populated.
I've checked in the source code under the module named "prodigy" which is the codename for this version of the library.
Right now I would describe the status of the code as "untidy". I need to go through the DomDoc (the base class for XAO) and tidy it up (missing comments on class members and redundant class members). Also, I've created a task to re-factor DomDoc to hive off some of the key functionalities into their own classes (XSLT tranformation, exception creations, and UAsniffer comes to mind). Because most of the code is already written, I don't anticipate this taking tooo long. In the mean time, I have to slap up a page for xao-php.sf.net
XML Application Objects is something that has been in the works for a while - conceptually speaking. Now it finds a form as PHP code. Check out this discussion thread. I'm listed as the user "tezza".
