Like many other people I have been frustrated with the lack of exe support in linux, Ive been told to use wine over and over but its not logistical for anyone who is a newbie, A person who needs to run lots of programs at their full capacity or someone who needs programs installed quickly and without problems. ReactOS used to be a distro I watched utill I was informed that they would not be working on the graphics any more than they already had. What the already had was a look similer to windows 98, I wasnt ready to give up the good looks of windows XP and vista so I moved on. Now I ask, is it in any way possible for Vixta to talk to the makers of reactos and incorperate parts of their kernel, or recruit people who work on ReactOS? I dont code, I dont know how impossible this might be but if it happened Im sure that it would not only make more competition for windows but also make the OS much more usefull for most people. At the moment I am Watching the download meter for the latest version of vixta, but when its done Im not going to install it to this computer, I will install it on my old computer. It my dream comes true and both distros work together I will use it as my primary OS along with many others.

its difficult to get good windows support because microsoft wont have anything to do with it because they know that if linux had good compatibility nobody would use windows. ReactOS on one note, has bad support for linux software as it is based on a windows kernel, there goes open source out the door. A program you should look into is Crossover, its easy to use and has better support than wine does.
