    Hello,

I'm having the following issue: after loading Vixta, the screen goes blank and only the mouse is seen! What could be the problem? Seems like the transparency is not working, because when I move the mouse I "find" windows there, but everything is white.

Is there a turn-around for this problem?

    Thanks,

    Nuno

      hi,

the blank screen is due to your VGA.

the only way is to open terminal when you "have" the blank screen problem:

      1. ctr+alt+F2
      2. login as vixta
      3. rm /home/vixta/.kde/env/kdewm.sh
      4. su
      5. init 3
      6. init 5

Tried to do as you said.. no success (yet)
when i'm trying to remove kdewm.sh it says that there is no such directory or file :(
my login is unka.. so i 've tried patches like home/unka/ didn't work.
i tried to check what folders do i have in /home/ with dir -ls -las and it shows something strange
      .
      ..
      thats it...

      thank you for your time.

ok! i'm in! :) but it sucks... it's not even close to what it looks like when you boot from cd... and works preety slow..
so what have i done :
in the boot menu there are few options, to eneter the command line, to change kernel boot onfiguration, and i dont remeber what else.. anyway, i've chosed to edit the boot line, and ereased from it vga=0x3xx
      and then everything went fine..

hope the information will bw helpful
      cheers :D

My Linux skill is somewhere between a novice and intermediate. I am also having the same issue with loading Vixta as nmrbc. The Live CD boots fine and it installs, as far as I can tell, properly. After the load screen I just get blackness with only the mouse cursor.

I am running a Gateway (please don't laugh too hard) TA6 tablet PC with an Intel Centrino Duo with about 1.6GHz, 4GB of RAM and an 80GB HDD. Any help would greatly be appreciated. Thanks.

        this is a vga problem!

you must delete de files in: /home/user/.kde/env/*

to be able to login with the 3D efffects disabled.

you could use xange.sf.net, wich is equal to vixta, but
