Ok seriously - what is the secret. Is there such a thing as a high capacity CDR or something??

    Seems odd I haven't found a solution??

    Thanks

Must be burned as an image, not data.

I tried burning it to a normal (Tesco's own brand) CD-R with overburn enabled in K3b and the CD worked fine, but the switch off button in KDE didn't work... not a big problem but annoying. Then I just stuck a re-writable DVD in and used the standard Gnome CD burner and it works a treat, I double clicked the ISO while the disk was in.

I would say though that try reducing the burn speed, I always have it slow for data discs, just to make sure it all gets burned OK.

I think you can get CD-R that can hold up to 800Mb, so one of those would do for you, if the burn the ISO to a DVD doesn't work for you.

Thanks for the help. I couldn't immediately find an 800Mb CDR but a helpful poster steered me to imgburn which wrote the iso to DVD beautifullay.

        Thanks all

I solved it by activating overburn in nero ...

      boots fine (098)
