I was just wondering if PS3 supports vixta. Did anyone tried yet?
Fedora is afaik supposed to work on a PS3. If no one knows, im going to try out tomorrow anyways, if anyone is interested in the result, let me know.

      Ummm...

Someone in this thread is obviously VERY confused about Linux.

      Jimmy. Fedora IS Linux.

Fedora, SuSe, Mandriva, Red Hat, Slackware...

      ALL Linux.

Fedora is just ONE distribution of Linux.

And Gnome/KDE are just two different front ends for the distributions. Most distributions favor one or the other.

Just wanted to clear that up. :P

Uhm, I might not be into Linux, though I know that all those distributions are based on linux ^^... Thanks for the info anyways :P.

I would assume no for now, as PS3 uses a different processor architecture than a 'normal' x86 PC. That being said, a lot of stuff (the themes, etc) could probably be copied over to any fedora install and be made to work with some effort.

this is the answer i got from 1 of the devs:
this is a fedora-based distro, so if fedora works, vixta will work to!

forgot to include my end statement
Fedora Core 5 has been run on the PlayStation 3; Fedora Core 6 has also been managed to run on the PlayStation 3 although it requires many more steps to get it properly working. More recently the new Fedora 7 also installs easily on PlayStation 3, using the default installer.

I know about the trouble with Fedora 6, though it's not that much of a problem to install it, (only 2 steps more needed) but I guess I wait till Fedora 7 is supported by Vixta (any plans there?) and then i'll install it on my PS3.

Presently, Fedora 8 is scheduled to be released to the general public on 8 November 2007. Why not wait till then not much longer should include a lot more great stuff
