There was a problem in the mounting of all local drives in the 8.00 English Live CD (0.98). They were mounted in the useless read only mode; even a USB stick!
System:
AMD Athlon XP 1.8 GHz
512 MB RAM
80 GB IDE HD
LG IDE CR/RW 24x
Generic 4GB FAT32 USB PD
There are two partitions; the first, a 30 GB FAT32 with Windows 98; and the second, a 50 GB NTFS with Windows XP. The latter wasn't even detected properly as such, it was assigned a vfat fs; but that isn't as important as accessing correctly the other ones. I don't know if this is actually a feature (by design) in this distro; in that case, sorry (and never mind all of this).
