#1 DAVE conflict, unable to reach server

I am currently working in a windows based office, and
have the only Mac. As a way to file share, I installed
a DAVE beta. I cannot uninstall it, and it is
superceding Samba. I cannot make Samba work, or even
access it. Please help, as I want to retain my Mac.
Also, can Samba access windows intranet messaging, or
is that a Win only application? Thanks,
