Because I seem to have problems connecting it to the ircd that came with debian 2.2_rev3. (Yes, sorry I'm a newbie but I don't want to start a new IRC network, only a small server for LAN Parties and it would be nice if I had x2 on it)

X2 doesn't work with crypted passwords, but probably more importantly, X2 only works with ircu2.10.8.*, which I believe is not the ircd that is shipped with debian. If you want to use X2, you'd have to download ircu from ircu.sourceforge.net, and install it yourself. during 'make config', you have to answer 'no' to the question whether to use crypted passwords for N: lines.
