Last time I checked, I found it relatively easy to compile X2 using Cygwin. There shouldn't be much of a difference, and I didn't notice any problems when testing it.

i have been looking all over for a windows port of X2Serv and i was unable to find one, when i read this forum i downloaded cygwin and all of its lib's. but when i go to do ./configure, there is an error message about some missing libs, but i have downloaded all the libs and development tool that cygwin has, is there a way round this problem?
