what if you had a user that came on when no ircop was on and they wanted to register,
they most likely would leave that network and go someplace else where they could, X2 services just suck

viperknight, the is a very good reason behind doing it this way. It allows the network to have some discretion over the amount of channels and nickname that are being registered. My network has setup a website that you apply for a channel via the web. Then after approval it is created and you are notified of such. This way you may gain immediate registration of a channel, it just doesn't become "yours" until you have been approved. If you've ever been on Undernet, you'll find they opperate in a similar way.

afternet (the official X2 network) has thesame way as with neo, I personally like the open registration better, so on my network we have a X2 fork running which allows users to register their own channels if they are OP in a chan and it isnt already registered.
