The API of wxPerl could stay as it is, and then one could have a layer built on top of wxPerl that has an API which is very similar or possibly better than that of tkPerl. In this way, wxPerl's existent users would not have to rewrite their legacy code, and wxPerl would gain popularity among the tkPerl users (I am one of them). Three cheers for Daniell! Bravo.
