[wxperl-users] Keyboard shortcuts while displaying menus

When using keyboard shortcuts in menus, (eg "&About\tCtrl-A"), the 
Ctrl-A works fine when using the app, but if you display the menu (using 
Alt keys, or the mouse), the Ctrl-A event either won't fire or is 
ignored.  I tried the same thing in my Ubuntu terminal, and it is 
ignored as well.  I tried the same thing in MS Excel, and it *does* 
trigger the keyboard shortcut event.  A MS-centric client noticed this 
and was concerned about usability for their users.

Any ideas if this is a feature or a bug?   Does this need to go back to 
the wxWidgets folks?
