Dear list, I'm the admin of an MXP capable mud. As such I tried a current version from 13th dec 09. It starts making a useable look. At the very first, you can play the game. Still, however, there are a few issues I want to bring to your attention: - SEND menus work, Hints work, Prompt works. However, PROMPT leaves the text selected and cursor in the beginning. This is bad, since the player will most likely just want to add a few words at the end of the command. - Very often, not all items with a SEND menu in a room show as such. I assume this is an interaction of the expire tags. Also, room exits don't have a working send menu. Again, I assume this is due to some EXPIRE issue. - Selfdefined Entities do not work in SEND menus (at least when those are selfdefined elements themself). Effect: There is a send menu on the mudprompt (for bandwidth reasons done as a selfdefined element). Within the menu entities like &PRHI; are used to embed player aliases. There is another use of this technique for ls command with clickable files as available to the wizzes. The last two of these issues are the major obstacles with respect to our mud. If you need test cases, just go to mud.tap.de Port 2000 login as guest and you'll be fine. If there's interest, I can provide 'walkthrough's showing some test cases in the mud, likewise maybe provide MXP snippets showing issues. Of course, if there's a bug / bad wording in the muds MXP use, I'll attempt to fix it. Some other remarks: - I dunno if it's soo good, that <SUPPORTS is broken into two lines.. - regarding the wxmud homepage wxmud.sourceforge.net it is not really possible to get from there to the sourceforge project page, learn how to checkout a version, find people working on the subject. - DEST/FRAME seems to work, at least as it is used by aldebaran (try tell) docking/undocking is a bit difficult (how about a contextmenu or buttons), , and yes the 1x1 window issue got me too. Regards, Freshman. P.S.: I have a sourceforge account eowmob, and well yes I used to use an account named miweller. Sorry for this confusion.. I'll stick with the eowmob now. |
