Use of algsys

    I have the following set of constants and equations:

    --> f: 2 * %pi * 1e8;
    --> alpha: 0.01;
    --> beta: 0.8 * %pi;
    --> eq2: sqrt((R + %i * f * L) / (G + %i * f * C)) - 50;
    --> eq1: alpha + %i * beta - ((R + %i * f * L) * (G + %i * f * C))^0.5;
    --> eq3: sqrt(L/C) - 50;
    --> eq4: L * C - 8.842E-12 * 1.257E-6 * 2.25;

    from which I can solve for C, G, L and R. Using wxMaxima's algsys command:

    --> algsys([eq1, eq2, eq3, eq4], [R, L, C, G]);

    returns [ ], i.e., no solution. Should I expect otherwise?

    Replace the second equation by eq2: ((R+2.010^8%i%piL)/(G+2.010^8%i%piC))-50^2; i.e. square both sides, ideally, and use to_poly_solve([eq1, eq2, eq3, eq4], [R, L, C, G]);
