When using the text editor under French MacOS X 10.2.6, some
characters cannot be typed directly: braces, brackets, backslash,
vertical bar, etc.
The reason is that these characters need a combination of alt
key, or alt+shift key plus some regular key, and apparently alt
and alt+shift keys are not recognized.
This is a strong handicap: one cannot type in PostScript tables
and procedures!
I found a temporary solution: to use the character palette to
insert these characters. Once they are inserted one can copy and
paste them.
Other similar shortcoming: when copying text into the clipboard
in some other application, the clipboard is not recognized by
ideps's editor. It works the other way around: the clipboard
copied in ideps's can be exported. The solution I found to copy
text from other applications is to drag it from one window to the
other. It is amazing that dragging works and not copy&paste...
Finally, not a bug, but a rather not pleasant feature: one cannot
write into a file when gs is still running, even when one has
arrived at the end of the file. It would be better if one could
write into the file at all times.
