i was trying to figure out how the graphical representation would work. i always figured that we would use the plugins and inheritance like you already described. there is more than just the editor in that dialog. but the parts that will be mostly affected by different editors are in the general tab. maybe the editor should just give the dialog the contents of that panel? i agree about the designer. i think that we should have a light duty executable just to deploy the designer as a standalone too. basically it just needs to have the applicable parts of the plugin manager and load the designer plugin and editor plugin and whatnot. probably won't need the autocompletion, since it is just a rad. then everyone can use the designer and not have to take dev with it. i like the xml idea, i think we need to look at the design of other frameworks a little to know how to set it up if we want to have the option of supporting others, but it will cater to wxWidgets of course. there are a few problems i ran into with the internal design, but they can be fixed in the c++ version. i'd have to look at the xrc code to remember what they where though.
