I second Esteban's cautions. The major push initially should be to get an extensible platform which behaves just like the current wxDev-C++. I have no problems with keeping in mind a ToDo wish list of new ideas, but I don't want to get bogged down for months trying to implement everything in one shot. Instead, the primary focus should be on just getting a mirror of the current features/behavior, just done so as generically and modularly as possible.
