Initial Comment:
The website (http://wxcode.sourceforge.net/) seems to 
feature a very strange browser recognition feature: When 
using Opera (version 8) with the setting "identify as 
Opera" I don't see anything except a top bar with the 
links default and normal; both links not working.
But when I change the "identify as" settings to "MSIE" 
everything works as expected, I can see a usual web 
page with frames, probably as intended.

[wxCode-users] Missing Linux makefile for components

Hi folks,

I have some questions about the wxCode bakefiles (bakefile Version 0.1.9.1)

After I cvs checkout the complete wxCode/components I switched into the=20
animate folder (because this one only includes a few source files).

I started with the bakefile_gen command in the animate/build directory. The=
 OS=20
is Windows XP with wxWidgets-2.6.1 and VC++ 6.0

All works fine and after that a nmake -a -f makefile.vc build the animate=20
library and it's example.

With Linux (Debian 3.1, wxWidgets-2.6.1 gtk port and GCC) the Bakefiles.bkg=
en=20
doesn't work because the following line:

<add-flags>-I%WXWIN%\build\bakefiles\wxpresets</add-flags>

After I replace it by:

<add-flags>-I$WXWIN/build/bakefiles/wxpresets</add-flags>

I can run the bakefiles_gen also on linux:
(How can I set this flag, so that the same file works with Windows and Linu=
x?)

I don't use bakefile since my makefiles and VC++ project files are
easiest adjusted by hand.  Just look once at the wxScintilla componenet
which has my most difficult makefile while it's still quite easy understandable.

available after a few hours.

Since cygwin is like unix, I think that if you download the openssh package you can use the 
istructions at:

http://sourceforge.net/docman/display_doc.php?docid=761&group_id=1#keygenopenssh

to avoid to enter the password all the times.

Another tip for anyone else having problems with wxCode CVS: I created a new special release in the

https://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=51305&package_id=114273

page which contains the CVS repository of wxCode (updated to few minutes ago) along with a script 
which allows you to use that CVS repository in write mode.

Sorry for beign so late with uploading my component, it appears CVS on=20
the command line is a royal pain. I need to do every dir seperately (I=20
forgot how painful it was).

I still need to know how to stop CVS (in cygwin) for constantly asking=20
my CVS password. It is quite annoying if all files need to be added=20
seperately and all CVS operations (even update) require a password.

John, do you know how I can tell CVS on cygwin that it should remember=20
the password (at least in the bash session?)

- written the missing FAQ entries
- completed the readme of the template folder (for wxCode admin: feel free to discuss & maybe change 
what I wrote in it, in particular the format of the components' readmes)
- added links to the help.php page which explains how to become maintainers of unmaintained components

Hi all,
    I would like to inform everyone that I did some further improvements to wxCode in the last days: 
the major ones are:

- synchronized wxCode database with wxCode CVS; now we have 47 registered components in the DB and 
47 components\ subfolders ;-)
   the updatesite.sh shell script has been updated too so that all websites will be properly updated.

- added the bakefile build system to the components:
   -> animate
   -> dlgbased
   -> splashtext
   -> lcdwindow

- renamed IEHtmlWin to iehtmlwin (to make it consistent with naming rules)

- renamed my component wxPaletteFrame to wxExtMiniFrame (I wanted to do this from a long time)

- fixed a bug with the google search of the website which pointed to wxcode.sf.net which is just a 
redirect to wxcode.sourceforge.net and thus showed always no results. Much more useful now ;-)

- added the wxCode statistics page to the link page: see how many new visitors we had recently at

Some of the info about the components could not be completely exact... please edit your components 
if you find that they contain some wrong info.

[wxCode-users] Incompatible bakefile build system changes

Hi,
    I would like to inform all maintainers using wxCode bakefile build 
system that I recently did some changes, in order to make the eventual 
integration of a wxCode component in wxWidgets easier, to the bakefiles.

I updated all docs (in particular the bakefile templates in 
wxcode\build\bakefiles which are a sort of tutorial to wxCode bakefile 
usage).

Basically the changes required are about the paths of the COMP_XXX vars. 
 From such bakefile snippet:

<set var="COMP_NAME">keybinder</set>
<set var="COMP_SRC">../src/keybinder.cpp ../src/menuutils.cpp</set>
<set var="COMP_HDR">../include/wx/keybinderdef.h 
../include/wx/keybinder.h ../include/wx/menuutils.h</set>	
<set var="COMP_SAMPLE_SRC">../sample/minimal.cpp</set>

you need to change it into:

<set var="COMP_NAME">keybinder</set>
<set var="COMP_SRC">keybinder.cpp menuutils.cpp</set>
<set var="COMP_HDR">wx/keybinderdef.h wx/keybinder.h wx/menuutils.h</set>	
<set var="COMP_SAMPLE_DIR">../sample</set>
<set var="COMP_SAMPLE_SRC">minimal.cpp</set>

which is much more readable and easier to maintain.

I think you need the mount -t option though, from $man mount=20
"-t, --text   text files get \r\n line endings"

If you don't mount the drive w/ -t I found that if you use "Windows"
editors on files you checkout from cvs it'll add /r/n to your docs and
when you commit them you'll get a little of both, which is annoying.
It's better to just have it be DOS in windows and unix otherwise. You
can still view the files as is, untranslated as you say above.

I am currently trying CVS in cygwin. I wanted to tell you that the mount=20
option is not needed, you can do /cygdrive/C for the C drive. Here is a=20
dump;
