Initial Comment:
-lwldap32 is missing from default LDFLAGS in makefile.gcc

mingw32-make -f makefile.gcc WX_SHARED=1 

fails with unresolved symbols

workaround: mingw32-make -f makefile.gcc WX_SHARED=1 LDFLAGS=-lwldap32
