I have put two archives of rendered WMFs out for anonymous ftp. One
archive is a Windows native rendering of the files in libwmf's
'examples' subdirectory, while the other archive is an
ImageMagick/libwmf rendering of the same files.
The files can be retrieved as
The Windows native renderings were actually done using ImageMagick
under Windows using Windows APIs. Unfortunately, the ImageMagick
Windows code doesn't properly calculate the output size, so I have
forced the output size to match the size estimated by my libwmf-based
While current libwmf-based renders usually share the same output
defects, the most glaring defect is that the bounding box provided by
libwmf is for the logical-stroked area, and there is currently no
means provided to anchor this to the physical area specified by the
metafile header. This means that libwmf-based WMF renderings draw out
to the edge of the image rather than leaving the border, and this
sometimes causes the aspect ratio to be way off as well.
