I was converting a number of random test documents, and noticed that quite a
lot of the converted files had large sequences of dashes, question marks,
and the like in them, and conversion does not always seem to reach the end
of the document properly (e.g. a document like
http://www.msu.edu/user/gradschl/gradasst/usta99a.doc gets truncated _and_
contains a lot of question marks in the output).
When I convert them by hand (I normally use a script) with wvWare 0.6.4
under Linux I get a lot of the following error messages:
wvError: (./text.c:400) iconv failed errno: 84, to:iso-8859-15 from:UCS-2
What does this mean? Is there something wrong with my iconv install? Should
I add extra sets to iconv? Or should I install a newer version (I use

Have you tried wvWare 0.6.5? I think a lot of the iconv stuff was fixed.
