Committed wvVersion.1 and wvSummary.1 man pages as well as a new configure script and a few small changes to the Makefile.in. I've also nailed the wvHtml/wvLatex/wvCleanlatex script problems. I'd like to get a release (0.6.0) out on/by Monday, so I've also changed version.c to properly reflect that. I've also changed all of the URLs to point to wvware.sourceforge.net instead of www.wvWare.com as well as updating some information in the README. If there are any objections or concerns to this new release, please tell me before Monday. I've run a bunch of my documents throught wvLatex, wvHtml, and wvCleanLatex and have been *very* pleased with the results. Good work! This should be the best wvWare release to date. Added man pages for wvWare, wvPS, wvPDF, wvMime, wvLatex, wvCleanLatex, etc... Added getopt.h to wv.h Changed strcmp(config, "wvLatex.xml")==0 to strstr(config, "wvLatex.xml") != NULL as a quick fix for the config file problems in wvWare.c Dom _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. The files wvLatex, wvHtml and wvCleanLatex don't have execute permissions. The are in the company of Makefiles, which shouldn't have... Second problem. In wvWare.c lines 492 and further a test is performed on config == "wvLaTeX.xml". If the full filename contains the path (i.e. in this case $libdir/wv/), the test fails and translation to HTML happens, though LaTeX was requested. Proposed solution: A. In the Makefile, get rid of paramaters XMLCONFIG and HTMLCONFIG and replace them by CONFIGDIR (= /usr/local/lib/wv). B. In wvWare.c, line 762: config=HTMLCONFIG ... somehow concatenate CONFIGDIR and config, into an aux.var. used only locally. config remains untouched. C. In wvWare line 492 etc., again, locally concatenate CONFIGDIR and config and use that to test with. I believe the test/fallback sequence in both places should be 1. <current directory>/<config file asked for> 2. $CONFIGDIR/<config file asked for> 3. $CONFIGDIR/<sensible default, e.g. wvHtml.xml> I would be willing to sacrifice 3. (I mean, if you want LaTeX, what good is HTML code? Vice-versa.) What do you think? I just *did* check in the new configure.in. Martin -- Martin Vermeer mar...@hu... Hopefully this will fix the wvHtml/wvLatex/wvCleanLatex xml file problem. Could someone run autoconf, re-run configure, and test this out for me? I won't have access to a box with autoconf installed on it for another week or so. If this is successful, please commit the updated configure script. Anyway, now the name is wvWare.c, and wvHtml.c is in the "Attic". There is another (little) problem with wvLatex, wvHtml etc. To run them, you have to be in the wv directory. There, wvLatex runs just fine and finds the local wvLaTeX.xml. If you try to run wvLatex from anywhere else, it prints Attempt to open wvLaTeX.xml failed, using /usr/local/lib/wv/wvHtml.xml which is the wrong kind of file. It would be more logical if you could give these commands in your current directory where your data is. But then these scripts should learn to find wvLaTeX.xml. Preferably the post- 'make install' location too. I made a further change to Makefile.in so that wv(Clean)?LaTeX.xml is make-installed too. Doesn't solve this problem though. Good ideas welcome ;-) Martin -- Martin Vermeer mar...@hu... Helsinki University of Technology Institute of Geodesy and Cartography PL 1200, FIN-02015 TKK, Finland :wq |

For some reason, mails to the list aren't getting sent to me. The last two commit messages also weren't getting archived. Wierd. I imported LibWMF under the module-name libwmf. I also added helper scripts, updated the Makefile, and modified the Credits and CHangelog. Successfully committed the Word 2 stuff. The command to use is: cvs -d$CVSROOT commit from the wv/ directory. (where $CVSROOT is set up by export CVSROOT=mve...@cv...:/cvsroot/wvware which I have in a shell script cvsroot.wvware). Took a little experimenting to discover that with the ssh tunnel system, you have to give the -d switch every time, login, checkout and commit ;-) ...now let's see when it shows up in the CVS Web interface... Dear Dom, Having just looked at the CVS of wvware at sourceforge, I must say you did a thorough job. Perhaps you should mention this mailing list at the wvware's home page. CVS anon checkout works fine; however, developer checkout (through the ssh tunnel) does not. I believe that if you want to give me named CVS access, you should register me as a developer (easiest through the Web interface) which will add mvermeer to Unix group wvware. My error message is [mv@geo9 mv]$ export CVS_RSH=ssh [mv@geo9 mv]$ cvs -z3 -dm...@cv...:/cvsroot/wvware co wv mve...@cv...'s password: cvs server: Updating wv cvs server: failed to create lock directory in repository `/cvsroot/wvware/wv': Permission denied cvs server: failed to obtain dir lock in repository `/cvsroot/wvware/wv' cvs [server aborted]: read lock failed - giving up ...pointing to lack of privileges. t.
