I just downloaded wv-0.7.4 and tried to build in on a system running
HP-UX 10.20.  The configure step seemed to go fine, but the build failed
    when it reached support.o:

    gcc -I. -I. -I./magick -I./libole2 -I./oledecod "-I./expat/xmlparse/" -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -DVERSION=\"0.7.3\" -DXMLCONFIG=\"/home/garyjohn/src/wv-0.7.4/share/wv/wvConfig.xml\" -DHTMLCONFIG=\"/home/garyjohn/src/wv-0.7.4/share/wv/wvHtml.xml\" -DWVDATADIR=\"/home/garyjohn/src/wv-0.7.4/share/wv\" -I/opt/gnu/lib/glib/include -I/opt/gnu/include   -g -O2 -ansi -pedantic  -c ./support.c

I've looked at the code and I just can't see the problem.  Any suggestions?

Also, there are four public forums and two mailing lists, plus the
SourceForge bug tracking system, where I could have reported this
    problem.  Which is preferred?

preferred? who knows. I think I'm the only person who pays any attention to the forums, and I'll ignore anything that I can't help with, so... the e-mail lists will at least be read by more people, even if you won't necessarily get any any response.

the problem here is probably the -ansi -pedantic which I suppose I really ought to remove. you could edit configure, search for "-ansi -pedantic" and delete it...

Removing -ansi from Makefile fixed it.  Thanks.  Now I can't seem to
build or link the local version of iconv.  At least I think that's the problem--
wvHtml renders all the characters in the text (not the tags) as '?'.  I may
just download the GNU version as suggested.

Sorry about the previous duplicate post.  I clicked on Reload and
clicked Yes when Netscape asked if I wanted to repost the form data.

ignore the iconv that is inside wv. get GNU libiconv
