I have desktop manager installed on two machines. A PowerMac G5
with a nVidia GeForce 5200 FX, and a PowerBook G4 17" with a
mobility Radeon 9600.
On the desktop G5, it works perfectly, but on the laptop, when you
hit the default F10 Exposé key to highlight windows of the current
application while dimming any windows of background applications,
it does not perform any dimming. This makes the F10 Exposé
function useless or worse, as without the contrast between
foreground and background apps, forcing all the foreground app's to
not overlap can actually make things visually very difficult to pick
out.
It seems like it might be a difference in the ATI versus the nVidia
driver implementation. Possibly related to the driver updates
that were part of 10.3.7 or 10.3.8

I noticed that pressing F9 (to show all windows) and then F10 (to show
current app's windows) causes the background apps' windows to dim
correctly. The same thing when you press F10, then F9, then F10 again. In
general, any Expos hot key and then F10 at the end will dim correctly.
It's a bit of a kludge for the user but it works around the problem for the time
being, and might be a clue to locating the bug. This is under OSX 10.3.9,
GeForce 5200 FX on a G4 iMac 20".

BTW, the previous comment (F9-F10 workaround) was from using Desktop
Manager 0.5.3.
