Thanks Peter. I tried WSPR and FST4W, but didn't decode. I may not have had the parameters right for FST4W -- I'll try again tonight. He had a pretty good signal 800 miles down the coast from him. 73, Jim K9YC On 7/16/2025 6:01 PM, Peter Sumner via wsjt-devel wrote: > Hi Jim, > on his web site he has an article about "Beacon Blaster" at this URL: > http://wb6cxc.com/?p=451 <http://wb6cxc.com/?p=451> > "FST4W-120 on Ten Bands Simultaneously" seems to roughly match up with > the freq you mentioned (depending on what Sideband you were using to > read the CW) > > Peter, vk5pj > > WS8 #2: > Channel 1, frequency: 1,838,134.982578 Hz > > > On Thu, Jul 17, 2025 at 9:24 AM Jim Brown via wsjt-devel <wsjt- > de...@li... <mailto:wsj...@li...>> > wrote: > > WB6CXC was on about 1836.5 transmitting about two minutes of narrowband > modulated something, followed by a CW ID -- WSOT WB6CXC, then > repeating, > with no pause to listen. Hi Jim, on his web site he has an article about "Beacon Blaster" at this URL: http://wb6cxc.com/?p=451 "FST4W-120 on Ten Bands Simultaneously" seems to roughly match up with the freq you mentioned (depending on what Sideband you were using to read the CW) Peter, vk5pj WS8 #2: Channel 1, frequency: 1,838,134.982578 Hz On Thu, Jul 17, 2025 at 9:24 AM Jim Brown via wsjt-devel < wsj...@li...> wrote: > WB6CXC was on about 1836.5 transmitting about two minutes of narrowband > modulated something, followed by a CW ID -- WSOT WB6CXC, then repeating, > with no pause to listen. WB6CXC was on about 1836.5 transmitting about two minutes of narrowband modulated something, followed by a CW ID -- WSOT WB6CXC, then repeating, with no pause to listen. Anyone know what he's up to? He's a retired EE, and his blog www.wb6cxc.com has a lot of very interesting stuff on it. 73, Jim K9YC |

Hi all! Maybe this message should go to the Hamlib development group, I don't know... I'm using WSJT-X with radio settings set to Hamlib NET rigctl. On PSK reporter details of my call-sign I don't see my real rig model, I see exactly Hamlib NET rigctl. Is there a way to change this? I mean independently by using Hamlib or a radio directly, on PSK reporter always get the real radio used to transmit? Hope I1ve been clear enough. Many thanks! --- *73 de Marco, PY1ZRJ (former IK5BCU)* ** |

I know this is just a it pick, but the “OK” button in the Log QSO window used to be colored (Dark I think) when the required info for the QSO was entered. On my MacBook Pro, it is grayed out. It still logs the data when pressed. Is this a Mac issue, a WSJTx issue or my issue? 73, Marty, W6NEV mcw...@co... 408-234-8023 |

Hi Malcolm Great that you have it working again. Please now contact the Hamlib developers with the details of the problem you had and details of your setup, and how you fixed the problem. By doing this, hopefully the problem can be fixed so you (and others) won't face the same problem in future releases. Hamlib is a live project, so it is always possible that some issue that affected your rig has crept in over time. They can be contacted using this mailing list: ham...@li... 73 Charlie DL3WDG On Thu, 10 Jul 2025 at 03:51, Malcolm Pelham via wsjt-devel < wsj...@li...> wrote: > Charlie it worked. Hi Malcolm If you mean this file libhamlib-4.dll (in the 2.8.1 bin folder) then a first step is to rename that to something else and then copy/paste the file with the same name in your 2.2.1 bin folder into the 2.8.1 bin folder. If this works, please let us know. I am not absolutely certain if 2.2.1 will have that file, so please check first before doing anything else. What rig do you have? 73 Charlie DL3WDG On Tue, 8 Jul 2025 at 16:29, Malcolm Pelham via wsjt-devel < wsj...@li...> wrote: > I just downloaded 2.8.1 from 2.2.1 and I am getting an error message for > Hamlib. Hi Nic I guess you are referring to the DT value on the widegraph. A value is printed to the screen after each decode period. On noise, or a signal too weak to gain sync from, the value will be random (within certain limits). If the signal is strong enough to gain sync, but not decode, then the value should correspond within about 0.1s to EME delay + any receiver latency (assuming PC clocks are correct both ends). Have you tried using the Q65_sync plot on the widegraph? This can also be used as an indication that a signal may be present, although it does also show up birdies to some extent. 73 Charlie DL3WDG On Sun, 6 Jul 2025 at 10:55, Nic Sears via wsjt-devel < wsj...@li...> wrote: > Hi Nic G3YEG here, qrp 432Mhz EME station. > > With my very small system I have now managed to successfully decode 37 > different stations and estimate that without faraday intervention I have a > high probability of decoding any EME station running more than 30Kw ERP. > > Over the years, like many other stations, I often see valid DT values > before a full decode. > > What I have also noted is that quite often I will see repeated similar > “odd” but not correct DT values when on the correct tx period from > stations. > > My question is this - is this a real observation of the stations signal > due to the nature of the Q65B signal or is it my imagination? > > My set up is not that sophisticated (9700 with sp70 lna , short cables and > 9 ele in loft space) but i use the very latest wsjt, new laptop with i7 and > 32gb memory. Hi Nic G3YEG here, qrp 432Mhz EME station. With my very small system I have now managed to successfully decode 37 different stations and estimate that without faraday intervention I have a high probability of decoding any EME station running more than 30Kw ERP. Over the years, like many other stations, I often see valid DT values before a full decode. What I have also noted is that quite often I will see repeated similar “odd” but not correct DT values when on the correct tx period from stations. My question is this - is this a real observation of the stations signal due to the nature of the Q65B signal or is it my imagination? My set up is not that sophisticated (9700 with sp70 lna , short cables and 9 ele in loft space) but i use the very latest wsjt, new laptop with i7 and 32gb memory. I always re run files using single decode together with a sliding window technique moving the qrg to find signals with ftol set at 50hz Thanks in anticipation of ideas / explanations. Nic G3YEG |

I mis-spoke, The FD logging doesn’t differentiate between working a station on FT-8 AND FT-4. It will be logged in both cases as a digital contact and will be declared as a dupe. Will un-checking that box make a contact appear as worked before in the log wether contact is made in FT-8 or FT-4 so as not to work that station again? 73, Marty, W6NEV mcw...@co... 408-234-8023 > On Jul 3, 2025, at 10:10 AM, Marty Wayne <mcw...@co...> wrote: > > I have a question about contest logging, specifically Field Day digital logging. > > When operating on say 10 meters and “Highlight by Mode” is checked, that appears as two separate contacts in the WSJTx log. I have a question about contest logging, specifically Field Day digital logging. When operating on say 10 meters and “Highlight by Mode” is checked, that appears as two separate contacts in the WSJTx log. In the FD log however, it is recorded as a duplicate contact because they only log contacts as Digital not as digital TX even or 1st.
