Hi Nic G3YEG here, qrp 432Mhz EME station. With my very small system I have now managed to successfully decode 37 different stations and estimate that without faraday intervention I have a high probability of decoding any EME station running more than 30Kw ERP. Over the years, like many other stations, I often see valid DT values before a full decode. What I have also noted is that quite often I will see repeated similar “odd” but not correct DT values when on the correct tx period from stations. My question is this - is this a real observation of the stations signal due to the nature of the Q65B signal or is it my imagination? My set up is not that sophisticated (9700 with sp70 lna , short cables and 9 ele in loft space) but i use the very latest wsjt, new laptop with i7 and 32gb memory. I always re run files using single decode together with a sliding window technique moving the qrg to find signals with ftol set at 50hz Thanks in anticipation of ideas / explanations. Nic G3YEG |
