Is there a way to transfer a contest exchange: NAME and STATE/PROVINCE via WSJT-X and have it be accurately logged?

This would be useful for a contest that uses this exchange.   WSJT-X seems to accept a two-letter abbreviation for STATE/PROVINCE as a substitute for Grid.  However, there does not seem to be a means by which NAME can be exchanged.  The Tx5 message can be modified (e.g., $DXCALL mycall myname), but seems to terminate the myname at the first letter and it has a maximum length.  Another modification might leave out my call (e.g., $DXCALL myname), but I'm not sure this would be properly logged by the receiving station.
