I do not have a problem with an auto-cq per se. Getting outraged before it’s been tried, or is causing an actual problem, seems to be "putting the cart before the horse" to me.
Personally, I would not mind being able to tell my radio “Alexa, get me a bora bora QSL” - maybe using “callsign/AI”. Now, that would be interesting automation, maybe, a real innovation and, maybe, not too far off.
+ Imagine several thousand hams around the world saying "Alexa, get me an FT8 QSO with every station that I haven't already worked", and configuring their stations to call CQ and make QSOs 24x7 until the task is complete.
+ Do we really need to wait to see whether this would cause a problem?
