Is there a way to get the tone data (1 of 8) out of the TX side of WSJT FT8? Like if I wanted to directly synthesize a TX carrier with 8FSK, is there some way, like UDP broadcast or something, to get the raw tone number out? Not the frequency (though that would be good enough, a numerical frequency), but just which tone of 8 is to be sent now. Or even the raw sequence of a full transmission as an array of integers kind of thing. I can do the actual frequency and timing. Yes, I know how to hit the tone within .01% so the FFT bin error isn't bad, I'm a radio and software engineer. I just want to do a completely class-C or E transmitter with no audio tones or mixing involved. Would be pretty easy if I just had the tone number. If not, the next question is of course where in the code I can pull it out if I modified it myself. Save me a lot of time if I knew where to look. But it seems like something someone would have done by now. While I'm here, is there a deep technical discussion group on the code operation of WSJT somewhere? Like, way far away from "how to set up my radio" and more like "how does the search correlator looking for sync pattern work?" Thanks. -Dan KW2T |
