As mentioned in ticket #35, restoring with a constant-size beam leads to errors in very wide field images. An option to restore with the actual instrumental beam size at large distances from the phase-centre would improve this in some cases. It depends on the subsequent calculations (source detection, use of integrated or peak flux) whether this is desirable, so it should be an option.
Thinking about this, I don't think this makes sense to do.
